Lionel Maurel is a library curator and lawyer, specialising in legal issues related to the digital environment (intellectual property, personal data, open science, etc.). He is currently Deputy Scientific Director at the Institute of Human and Social Sciences of the CNRS (Paris, France). He was involved in the adoption of legislation on the opening of public data in France and its implementation, particularly in the academic world. He is also the author of the S.I.Lex blog since 2009, dedicated to legal issues in the digital environment and the Commons.
