I am a retired police officer who spent 30.5 years as a police officer and a further 7 years as a civilian support officer. As well as regular uniform and CID duties I conducted a Home Office funded research project into fraud investigations, was the project manager for the introduction of an in-house computerised crime management system and managed the introduction of the new national police and emergency services digital radio system.

On retirement I moved from Glasgow to rural Balquhidder where I became involved with the broadband project through my involvement in the local Community Council.

I set up Balquhidder Community Broadband CIC and have been involved in planning, development and implementation of the project. This has involved developing the business plan, the partnership with our commercial ISP – Bogons Ltd, and securing funding from Stirling Council and LEADER.

When not involved with the project I walk my two black labrador dogs and enjoy foreign travel. Now that I have a 1 Gb/s connection I am also enjoying streaming music and UHD video which was not possible before.
